The challenge was to carry out a full strip out of the bedrooms and bathrooms in a very limited timeframe, whilst the hotel was in operation. This entailed removing all old tiling on walls and floors within the bathrooms, installing new waterproofing and screeds, replacing all new white marble mosaic to floors and marble slab to walls, new vanity counter and shower enclosure, new mirrors throughout, new gypsum ceilings, and providing new sanitaryware faucets and accessories. In the bedrooms our full scope included all new electrical services, timber joinery to walls, wallpapering and decorations, reveneering of existing doors, new timber flooring, laying new 80/20 carpets, and manufacturing and installing all new loose furniture and upholstery within the rooms.

Each Phase of the works was completed in a short 4 month period from commencement of works to guest occupation, with Phase 1: Tower A comprising 226 x bedrooms, bathrooms, and guest corridors, and Phase 2 Tower B comprising x 359 bedrooms, bathrooms, and guest corridors. This project proves yet again that our company approach, technical “know-how”, and substantial in house resources provide the results that are expected in a demanding environment, and testament to our world class capabilities.
